I recently bought a 2004 Big Dog with a S&S 107". It has 21,000 miles and I don't know the history. It has adjustable pushrods and I believe it has a S&S 585 cam and roller rockers. I'm thinking it may be time for new lifters Should it get standard or lifters with the limiters? Thanks in advance.
But what do I know? I drive a party bus.

Unless you're really worried about how the bike had been treated by the P.O., 21K seems like overkill to replace the tappets. I have never changes them with less than 30K, and usually closer to 50K. If that helps....

Pay no mind to the twin cam crowd and their fascination with lifters.

Just for your info might want to check with S&S, many 107 & 113 motors had the .600 cam.

Yep, and even then you never know until you lay eyes on it or measure lift.
I have a new to me 03 Bigdog with 107", 6,000 miles. I'd wager never been into as I know previous owner since new.
Called S&S with my engine number and found engine was shipped unassembled to Big Dog with the .520 emission cam in the kit.
But once I took it apart, had the .600 in it.

And yeah, leave the lifters alone.

If you're anywhere near or south of the 42 parallel,

I'd suggest an oil cooler if you are running 20-50.
They don't call me Ironhead Rick just because I'm "hard headed"
