2020 Heritage 114 , luckily or not @ 25mph something broke loud crack  then clattering, no engine lights etc clutch still function & drive.

Any history of this sort of fail, elsewhere .or just mine

PoorUB

I am an adult?? When did that happen, and how do I make it stop?!

Just yours. If it is something that happens even occasionally, I haven't seen any real evidence of it here, especially on a new bike. At least it is still under warranty.
If the government gives you everything you want,
it can take away everything you have.

My answer comes off as a bit harsh, I was joking when I said just yours, but after I read it today it doesn't play as well, sorry about that. Hopefully someone here can give you a hand.

Yes sir,
Warranty authorised complete new gear cassette, but on backorder of course.

Squeeze the owner to take a gear set out of one of the bikes in the back room that he'd like to sell.

Nice thought, but over here = UK, seems they are running out of inventory!
