I have an older Interstate (model number:  FAYTX20HL) battery for my '94 FLSTN.  The shop I bought the battery from is out of business and
I've lost the receipt for the battery.  I've asked Interstate three times for help on determining the date of the battery and all they do is give me the run around!  Does anybody know how to find the date using one of the many sets of numbers on the battery?

Are you trying to get it warrantied?   Interstate motorcycle batteries only have a 6 month warranty.  Since you said it is an older battery, you might be wasting your time.

No, I'm not trying to warranty it.  I just would like to know how old it is.  Usually I'm pretty good about keeping up a log of what I do on my Softail.  However, the last few years I've been riding less and less, so the log book entries have been less too.  The last time I recorded a new battery was "2009"!  There ain't no way the battery is 11 years old and still cranking good.  Granted I keep it on a float charger and periodically tighten and clean the terminals.  But, 11 years..........!

I was (sometime ago) an Interstate dealer.
They had the mfg date stamp on the uppermost outside rim, burnt in date.
I don't know why they would change the location or even omit the stamp.

Sorry, that's the best I can give you.

I have an 09 Dyna that is still on the OEM battery.
Connected to a Northern Equipment battery tender when it is in cold storage in the MN winter.

My lawn tractor battery is from 2001. Doesn't help the conversation, just bragging!

Where I used to work we had batteries fail in a couple pickups a few weeks apart. Both were 14 years old, original batteries.
I am an adult?? When did that happen, and how do I make it stop?!

Probably! I'm ok with it if it happens. Surprises me every time it starts.
