buddy has a 2013 Road King with a Fatcat(perf wrapped baffle) and a ventilator A/C. Heads are coming off and headed to the machine shop for a valve check/job/surfaced/cc'd. The 2 cams he has selected are S&S 570 or the Comp Cams TC-3102. without getting into porting/polishing. What is the preferable compression for each(florida) which cam will give the better ride/drive. He rides solo 240lb 50/50 aggressive and cruise. Never under 22/2300 rpm. I will be replacing inner bearings/lifters/tensioner pads etc. and will be going back with .030 gaskets. I have not ridden with either of these cams so real world experience is welcome. I have run Andrews 26/37/44 in 103's set up correctly without headwork. Thanks for all that reply.

I just did a s&s570 in a 117 at 10.25:1 (measured). It tuned easy, real good feel on the street, but this is a 117".  On paper I've seen better choices in a 103". I rode a 103 with an Andrews 48... real nice!

Andrews 48 would be my choice if the engine is basically stock. With a bump in compression to at least 10 to 1, I lean towards the S&S MR 103.

JMHO.

Bump compression to 10.2-10.3 and run a comp 3103

For my own curiosity. What makes this a better choice than the s&s570? I've never heard the 3103 mentioned till recently. And a year ago everybody seemed to be using the CR570II here?

Of the 2 you mentioned the Comp Cams will be the much better choice
