Does anybody have these specs handy? I have the original 590 specs, and the 590ps2 specs, but not the 590ps specs. Thanks

rigidthumper

My notes show the advertised specs for 590 & the 590PS the same- Intake 22/44, 246°,.590",  Exhaust 48/20, 244°, .590" lift. The ramp rate (lifter intensity) 3.89 for the 590PS, and 4.05 for the 590.
Ignorance is bliss, and accuracy expensive. How much of either can you afford?

Big Boyz camshaft comparator has the older tman 590 listed. No longer available, at least from Tman.  Tman's website has the newer 590ps2. They are a bit different

This is what I thought 👍. And then the ps2 is the old 585 specs with .590" lift, correct?

tdrglide

I'm seeing the 590 PS2 cams as IN, 23/43, 246, 590 lift,  EX, 55/15, 250, 590 lift. This is from spec sheet on his website

The older 590 were as ridgidthumper says. I think he made a ramp change along the way with those too. People complained about noise. I didn't.

I had the originals for 30K as well and not loud at all.

not to hijack the thread but curious if anyone is running the 590 ps2?  Im thinking of picking a set up for my bike.  I hear there similar to woods tw-8-6.

Some of the numbers might be similar,  thats where they part. Not the same, the overlap number tells part of the story.

I am.  In a Road Glide with a 117 set at 10.8 with heads from Don at HD Street Performance.  I wouldn't change a thing.  I think you have asked this same question a few times now.....

Only asked the question because I have a set of new in box 590ps cams I'm looking to get rid of and wanted to be sure of the specs before posting them in the classifieds.

The 590 has gone through a few changes over the years. The ps2 seems the most different. Lots more on the exhaust side. Would that make it more pipe sensitive? Or was it a move to calm the ramps down, widen the lsa???

I'll bet Tom Reiser will give you the specs.  Did you call TMan?

I called them today and asked specifically why they changed the cam and Brian at Tman performance said was to make them more quiet.

My laymen's brain says the 590ps or 590ps2 will give you the same seat of the pants riding experience as the w8 (unless the aggressive ramps of the 8 give it more of a hot rod feel 🤷‍♂️ I've never rode a bike with the w8) the woods 8 will have a louder valve train. From your previous posts you already have the 8. Is a quiet valve train worth the cost of the changes??? For me, on my bar hopper... no, on my bagger... yes.

My bagger 117 with CR595i is more quiet than stock... but you gotta give it the compression it needs.

I use to have the Tw-8-6 in my bike and long story short had sever bad tune experiences and another tuner insists the tts 150 cam was way to go so that's what's in my bike now. Good tq but want more power so here I am.  So thinking about either throwing a tw8 in again or if that 590ps2 has same manners and quieter then will go with that.

Would the ramp change affect TDC lift? Looking for numbers to insure clearance.

Way too far in the weeds, Set the valves at .220 and assure you have .050" Good to go.
