Had alot of the same problems that you have, chased the front end the whole summer was spokes on rear wheel. Also later bike would have a  death wobble when you hit a small pot hole. Chased the problem for a bit, and found by accident about a 1.5 dia. spot of tread separation that was not seen by visual inspection.

XLfan- when you grab a handful of front brake, all that weight and energy transfers forward... neck bearings pop when forks are compressed more than a normal stop. Once yoy come to a stop, 0ut your feet down and pull back on the bars unloading the front suspension, the neck will pop again.

Ivyman- symptoms exist with old tires and new tires alike.

Given the engineering of front fork brackets, steering stem and neck bearings, neck bearing popping should be impossible.

Is it possible that you have forgotten to loosen fork legs in lower bracket, before torquing down upper star bearing nut and upper bracket?

Fit it. It could be your issue.

Hey Chief? Can you update us on the issue?
We're all A-holes. It's to what degree that makes us different.

No changes... but also no work performed yet either. Im my fathers caregiver and he was admitted to the hospital for some things. Then caught covid at the hospital. The kraus rear adjusters are on order.

Gotta wait for pops to get out of hospital and for life to return to normal. Ill post what changes I do and any results.

You've got your priorities right. Do what you can for your Dad and all the best for him!
