I have a 2017 cvo street glide that is having a problem reading the rear TPM. The rear sensor reads "--" with the warning light on. My local dealer has replaced the TPM 3-times. They thought the sensors were bad. Today they replaced the BCM and it still will not read. Now they are saying it is because the bike has been tuned with a TTS tuner and there is nothing they can do. Does anyone have any ideas what could be causing the problem?

There's lots of info to be found on a Google search.  Here's a video I watched that gives a basic rundown of what components the sensor communicates with and may also give you some ideas.  I'm sure there are others.  In your year they were CVO only and integrated into the OEM system.  Have you tried calling Steve Cole at Master Tune (TTS) and asking him if the tuner can interrupt the TPM?

Thanks, I did see this video before. I find it almost impossible for the TTS tuner to affect the TPM. I will try to call Steve to see if he may be able to help.

If it will read the front, then theres no affect from the tuning device.
Flash the original MTE file back in the ECM, have them go through the programming steps for new TPMS install, then see if the system is reading both wheels.
Ignorance is bliss, and accuracy expensive. How much of either can you afford?

:agree:  Makes good sense. I suspect the dealer tech may be succumbing to some sort of trouble shooting confusion.

Maybe not the tech. If the TPM assignment has to change anything in the ECM, then it probably can't do it with the ECM locked.  Do what Robin says and restore the ECM to try again.

Well I put the original map back in the ECM and took the bike back to Harley service. They tried to a new TPM and a new BCM and it still won't connect.
I am at a loss, anyone have any ideas?

Will it read the front sensor?
If so, have them re-do the entire programming procedure, like it's a new setup from the factory..

It does read the front sensor.

The TPMS systems in general typically use Bluetooth LE for wireless communication, thus they use 2.4Ghz frequency to connect. Make sure you do not have any other wireless equipment, or poorly shielded electronics such as power amps in the rear.

Just an update...I think I found out why my rear tire pressure monitor wasn't working. My local Harley dealer installed the Japanese part that operates on a different frequency. They have a domestic TPM on order. Hopefully that fixes it!

The wrong part, three times? Well, that would boost my confidence! :banghead:
I am an adult?? When did that happen, and how do I make it stop?!
