I've been hunting for a reasonably priced rain suit for occasional use and the Tourmaster line seems to offer a lot more bang for a lot less bucks than the H-D suits.  Anybody have any experience with Tourmaster good or bad?

I have one and have only used it once, and like it. Am going to get one for the wife.

I've had a set for a few years now. Glue a piece of leather or other burnproof material after they melt on the exhaust pipe and they're good to go. Best part is they roll up pretty small and tale up little space.

We have been using Frogg Toggs for years and have no complaints...They are also very compact compared with some other rain suits...They are not rubber either and dry very fast...The link below will bring you directly to motorcycle suits...

thumbs up for the frogg togs,  they will melt too if you touch the pipe, but they are light and roll up real small.  No experience with the tour master.

I went to my local home improvement store and purchased a rubberized fabric yellow rain suit designed for outdoor workers. I bought the set that had bib pants with should suspenders to hold it up. The jacket was 3/4 length so that, when sitting in the saddle, it hung down to saddle height. This overlap between the high waist and bib on the trousers and the bottom of the jacket prevented any water from getting in and kept me dry in all kinds of weather. I've ridden through very heavy rains, hail storms and even one monsoon and i stayed completely dry inside. The additional benefit is that the yellow made me very visible. The other benefit was that I only paid $20 for it (They are a little more expensive now). The only downside is, whenever the rain stops and the sun comes out, I have to find a place to get out of it ASAP because it does get hot inside with the sun beating down.

Hope this helps.

Norm.

I had a Frogg Togg suit that I melted the inside of the right leg on my exhaust the very first time I wore them.  I eventually replaced the pants with some vinyl Indian MC rain pants that J&P was closing out really cheap a few years ago.  Time for a new set.  I'm afraid on a DYNA with mid foot controls the Frogg Togg just doesn't work. Other than they melted and my right leg was wet for three days of a  9 day trip to Wyoming I liked them well enough though. It really sucks when your sock and inside the boot gets wet and stays wet.  I'm leaning towards the cheaper Tourmaster that isn't vinyl.  Hopefully they don't melt and leave gick all over the pipes.  Maybe I'll call them Monday.  The $20.00 home store ones sound practical but vinyl does get really hot really quickly, MMOCGuy. Been there and done that.

Kansas have you considered a decent long rider (duster) type coat? There are several brands.

With one of these you can use anything for your lower legs / feet alla way down to garbage bags and be dry as toast................they also are heavy enough to be a mid level cool weather cover too................I got one similar to this one at the Co. State Fair in '96 for $100(Aussie Outback brand)........................maybe the best $100 I EVER spent on foul weather gear!

I have the Tour Master Elite with Nomex  I bought it on line for around $100 shipped 3yrs ago. Pay the extra for the nomex. Tip carry 2  grocery store bags, put over boots before slipping on pants(they will slide on easier) no dancing required, then romove bags after pants are on.

Another vote for the Tourmaster. They've performed well for me in some horrendous downpours. (wish I'd thought of the grocery bag trick though, I hate to dance)

I've had Aerostitch, Tourmaster, and Dry Rider. The Dry Rider was by far the most waterproof of the bunch, but it also didn't breath well, and needs to come off as soon as the rain stops. Note, it's Dry Rider, with a "y"... not the poor quality DriRider stuff sold primarily in Australia and NZ.
