My buddy just bought a FLHTP 97  its like a Road King , long time ago i was reading a book that stated these bike has 9:5:1 CR  , and wasnt in the heads , the Moco took  on the cylinder base , so the engine is sharper,
Someone alredy read this ? I cant remenber what was the book

Isn't a P model for patrol?
I think the cop bikes were lower compression for longevity.

Or was that just shovels?

If he removed the  base gasket he was fussing with the squish and deck Ht
It will not do much for raising the CCC but will make it run a lot better.
The trouble with the stock Evo head is the design.
Most modify it to a better configuration.

My local shop guy told me that every EVO cop bike the ever took apart (mostly FXRPs) had 50 thou shaved from the heads from the factory.

The badged SE Evo heads were cut too.  IIRC it was .060".  That made them 10:1.

If they got the squish dwn to something respectable, and a CCP of 10.5, it would be a runner!

. Thats exactly what i read years ago !!! I cant remenber where  ,but it was 50 thou off  , so i told to the guy to install a W6 or EV27
