James Blue Intake Seals?

Had bad intake leaks.  Put new James seals on, all was good.  Return throttle cable acting up,  pulled it apart, reassembled,  now all 3 points leak.  Even the carb to intake is leaking.  Damn it. 

Has anyone tried the blue James seals?

In retrospect I feel like when i had it apart today i should have backed the intake to head screws out and retorqued.  I used an angle meter to match the angle of the cam chest exterior to the intake like Pacific Mike does.

And I used a little dish soap when I first put the new seals in
