My kid has cam cover  come  loose  and  blow out  gasket , I  offer  to  fix it  98 evo  dyna . He  gets  the  gaskets ,pushrods  and  a new  cam ,while  I  have  it adjust  primary  chain  check  the  plugs, put it  back  together  and  won't  start  no spark  waiting  for  a  friend  to  find  a  points setup so can see if factory  ign  went bad was  hoping  for  a  quick  job ,  no good  deed goes  unpunished  lol

We had 4 1998 Police Road Kings and each of them needed the ignition pickup plate replaced at least once.  They would get hot and melt the plastic that was sealing the assembly.

Yeah  looks like  the  same  thing , I  see where  it  melted
