HI. l've got a 99 softail custom, the turn signals will come on, but won't flash, but the 4 ways work Just by chance l have a 99 heritage and i took the turn signal module off the custom and plugged it into the heritage and everything works like it should. Any ideas of what could be wrong? Thanks

Dirty connection?  Take the one from the heritage and try it on the custom.

Did that no difference. Worked on it again today to make sure all the connections were right. Still scratching my head. Thanks for the input.

Maybe I'm dense, bit how so? Neither module works on the Custom.

Man I'm slow today, lol. I'll look at the wiring diagrams, if I have them, in the morning. Those bikes are not very complicated.

I switched the modules, same thing. Both bikes call for 68540-96.

Start by removing the bulbs and clean the sockets, replace all bulbs.

Clean the pins in the connector for the TSSM.

Clean the common ground point connection at the frame.

Make the following test on your bike.

With the bike powered up. You black meter probe on the battery - connector.

Black -             TSM Pin 1 should be 0 volts
Orange/white - TSM Pin 2 should be 12 volts
Brown -           TSM Pin 3 should be 0 volts (this is the right turn lamp)
Violet -            TSM Pin 4 should be 0 volts (this is the left turn lamp)
White/Green -  TSM Pin 5 is the speedo pulse for cancellation. Not sure what it will be sitting still.
TSM Pin 6 is not connected
White/Brown - TSM Pin 7 should be 0 volts. If you press the right turn signal button it should be 12 volts
White/Violet -  TSM Pin 8 should be 0 volts. If you press the left turn signal button it should be 12 volts
