Does anyone know the color code of the signal wire for the check engine light in the speedometer?

Stock speedo has been replaced with a speedo w/o check engine light.

According to the WIRING DIAGRAMS & ELECTRICAL TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE - 1998 ALL MODELS: BK/Y (BK/Y in main harness too)

Should I have more than 0.5V reference voltage at check engine light, pin # 6 at ECM?
