I'm looking to buy a used Heritage. I know there has been hundreds of posts on this topic, but I was hoping for a brief summary of what the factory did to fix this problem. I think there was a fix that involved venting the primary by installing a hose. Does the factory install the fix when the bike is built? Which years are affected?

Thanks.

Transmission fluid transfer was addressed with the primary vent tube. Late 2019 tourers came from the factory with the vent. Not sure if other models were afflicted. My 12/18 build 2019 road glide transferred and I had the vent kit installed by dealer.

Thank you. So I should see the tube regardless of the year.

Not certain the softails had the transfer issue?  I've placed a few of the vent kits on touring models, but I've not done one on a softail.
Ignorance is bliss, and accuracy expensive. How much of either can you afford?

The issue was only on the hydraulic clutch models.

Aha! So the Heritage didn't have the problem at all.  Thanks everyone.
