I get a code from TSM when checking codes, It gives a code 12. Can't find that one listed anywhere. Gonna try the relearn and see what happens.

Can I change to a known good TSM or do they need to be married to bike?

Will a relearn password be a good thing to try?

Had all connectors a part to find broken wire.

Coyote

Codes are a letter followed by a 4 digit number. 12 is not a code

bump

How about a P1009 incorrect password? Should I try a password relearn?

Coyote

Did you change something?  They don't go away on their own.

Coyote

BTW, TSMs don't require a password unless you are changing to or from a TSSM.

Went out and rode bike about 10 miles. Cel came on and the red key light came on.
Checked codes and got U1097 and U1255.

Checked TSM codes and got 13 by way of turn signal flashes.

I am not finding these codes in list.

Coyote

Both of those are related to loss of serial data between the speedo/ecm/tsm. You need to check that wiring.

You're bike uses the speedo to display errors, not the turn signals.

You should probably acquire a manual.

Electrical manual tells how to check Tsm. I got a 13 code by the light flashes but don't see it in list.

I will check wiring again.

Don't you wonder why?

I'm looking at the 2005 Touring manual bud.

bump

Are you looking at service manual or electrical diagnostic manual?

Electric manual shows how to check codes in TSM on page 3-20.

Just trying to figure this out

Coyote

That tells you how to look at the lamp to see IF there is a code set. It is not telling you any codes. That's done through the odometer display.
