Se 58mm spacer required?

I have a 58mm se I am installing on a 09 street glide. I bored out backing plate but have a space between throttle body and backing plate?? Around .100?

Can't you remove .100" from each side of the backing plate mount to head ?

I guess either that or make a spacer to go between the TB and backing plate. I don't know if this is a product of using the stock backing plate on a SE 58 or because the SE 58 is listed for 14-16 and I am using it on a 09 motor?

The SE TB is one piece and makes it hard to check for manifold alignment.  With something like an HPI you can actually feel the inside to be sure the mounting is correct and matched all around.  If you have access to an endoscope, take a look inside at the match of the port to manifold before cutting the mounts back. 

I think it's possible there is a difference in years.  Maybe someone will know and jump in with an answer.  If all else looks good go with what john has suggested or buy / make a combination of thick gaskets for the throttle body.  FWIW I had to stack a couple of gaskets on one but usually I find there is enough room for rubberized S&S shims at the two mounts at the vents.

As I was typing Ohio came up with some research that if correct makes more sense.

I am able to see enough inside that alignment looks good. I think its around 1.750 going onto 1.8 head. Can see the far side pretty good with flash light and blade open.

Do you think there is a difference from stock on spacing?

The 29238-08 I have measures about 1.860" from the machined TB surface to the edge of the two mounts that meet the heads.
