TW21 vs S&S 509

Thinking of replacing my stock cam in my stock 2004 Bagger 88cu.
Any recommendations?  S&S 509 or TW21

I have no experience with the S&S 509 but the TW21 perked up my FLTRI nicely!
Makes about 78HP with the Supertrapp 2:1 exhaust system.
The bike is still at 88 inches because the performance is "adequate".
I fitted the cam 17 years ago, I used the gear drive version so I have had no need to remove the timing cover in more than a decade.

Yes I have a 21 in my 99 now and it has tons of low end pull but for God's sake don't get a TW21.  Get a 21N pair and go the conversion cam route making your bike effectively an 07 style for tensioners, chains and oil pump.  No special tools required for pressing cams in and out of the plate either with the 21N.

Had a 21 in a ultra, ran good. Currently running a 509 in a roadking with 110,000 miles on it. 509's are the better of the two. A little more money but worth it.

ran an Andrews 26 n cam in a 95 cu" 2005 efi eglide  harley flat top big bore. 80 hp and 90 ft lbs tq. dyno tuned withSE race tuner, factory pipes with Kerker off road bagger slip on mufflers. biggest gain was in driveability . gained 7 ft lbs of tq. at 2100 rpm's. bike ran and pulled much better up hills and on and out of corners. lots less downshifting.

I too had Andrews TW26 in my carbed -04 95" RK and I liked it a lot.

I wouldn't hesitate to put it in 88" but I would be interested to see how TW48 would work in 88".
