I have a Friend that has a Trike and the reverse motor is not  working, all connections have been checked. I know there's several ways to go here and I've not had the opportunity to replace one. There is a rebuild kit, a company that remanufactures them and then of course, new from HD or aftermarket. Anybody have any advise for any of these?

Lots of talk on the trike forums about this.
You've covered most of the paths many have taken.
There have been a few that have gone with the mechanical reverse and really like it.

The reverse motor is fairly easy to replace, really expensive from HD, I would buy the repair kit and take it and the motor to a local starter/Alternator repair shop and ask them to "rebuild" it for you.

I advise my trike customers to only use the reverse when really needed.

I've had 4) TG's. 2010,2012 and 2) 2014's (totaled 1 2014). I have never had a reverse problem. Even backing up over 100" a couple times. Never even set off the trip switch. Must have a rabbit's foot up my A$$.   :SM:

I think if I ever had to REPLACE one, I'd go with a Baker mechanical unit.
