It's an easy fix you can do yourself. A 1/4-20 bolt and a lock nut, done.
Before removing the OE one, soak it in penetrating oil, some are difficult to get out.

No worries. I just want to make sure all know we have the recall posting that FSG keeps up with.

Maybe I missed it, but is it the rear shock bolt that is the weak link? I read thru the recall and didn't see if it's both bolts, or front or rear, or is it the mount for the adjuster?
Either way, my Lowrider ST is on the list. I'd like to get it squared away while the weather is still nice.

I read on the NHTSA site that the fix is to install a 5/16" fastener, so I'm wondering if it is that little 1/4" screw that they're replacing.

yes it is, the bulletin describes it so well ......  easily done at home

I called my dealer a few days ago and they don't have the replacement parts yet. I have another bike I will ride until the part comes in.

use some good Zip Ties and secure it so it doesn't move should the button head shear off, then ride it until the dealer gets the parts

I called the dealership closest to me and inquired if they had the kits. They said they had a few of then and they are on a first cone first serve basis, and they were putting names on a list. I was asked if I bought the bike from them, which I didn't.  I was told I was quite a ways down the list to be called. I then called the dealer I bought from, & low & behold they have plenty of the kits, and could get me in this Saturday, which I cant do. I'm scheduled for next Saturday morning.
