Friend got a set of WISECO pistons for a 107. They don't give really good instructions on the top and second rings. There is a black ring and a silver ring which one goes where?

There should be instructions that state which ring type is top and second, as well as what coating if any is top or second. There should also be instruction showing in what orientation if it matters is up.

Below is from their V-Twin (Harley Davidson) catalog. The rings should have a type listed on their package, GFX, VM, VQ, etc.

Look real close, there should be a tiny letter "N" on each ring. It faces up

If the black ring has no markings, feel the outer edge carefully. From Wiseco it should have one edge that is very sharp, (like undercut or hooked, like the GFX or VQ in Ohio HD's chart, also known as a Napier ring). The sharp side faces down.

If theres no marking, dot, or sharp edge, look for an inside bevel. Inner bevel on the second ring faces down.
