DH has been using the CP Carrillo rods for the M8 motors. They now have designed and have their own premium rods. I'm sure as tough as their Twin Cam rods are.

My Darkhorse TC assembly had their H beam rods, it took a lot of abuse and was still going strong last I heard from the guy that bought the bike.

Same here, my TC 124 is a sound quiet motor. The TC 117 I bought from Ray I beat for 40k miles. I have the motor apart, and the rods are tight as new on the crank pin.

Do you think Darkhorse is actually making these in-house?

If I have to guess, I'd say no. They probably have them sourced.

Not at all, for the TC assemblies they have always stated a choice, Carillo, or an import H-beam. IME the import a very good product for street use.

I'd bet they're Carrillo rods with some changes they specified to work with their modified flywheels.

It's very possible they have CP make them. When I inquired about the DH brand TC rods and where they were made, etc. All I could get was the material was an import. That was a conversation about eight years ago.

Andrew told me two years ago that Trask uses the DH brand rods in their TC builds.

That would be incorrect - we do source forgings and finish rods in house to size.  Nothing we have is sourced from Ultima

Good to have you stop by John. Your input is always very welcome.
