Started using Garmin zumo 550 in 08, upgraded to the 660 in 14 or so, recently upgraded to the zumo xt2, substantial upgrades to the zumo coming from the 660. Even has a rear view camera, I hope it last like my other Garmin products.

Do you keep it mounted over your radio screen permanently?  It really has lots of nice features.

Ok, that makes perfect sense and a great idea.  Thanks!

Did you fabricate a mounting bracket ? Curious as where you wired power supply. It looks very tidy.

I used the RAM handlebar mount that came with the ZUMO with two bolts run up through the top of the box, I put a piece of 3m tape between the two surfaces. The mount wouldn't work on the bars because of the size of the bars.

Power came from under the front fairing, existing 12v supply, power cord runs through existing holes in back of box.  Used a Y extension harness #69200921 so I could hook up a usb adapter with cord in right side glove box too. I did use some spade connectors on power cord and lengthened the cord from the harness in case I wanted to remove the zumo mount for some reason without having to pull the fairing.

I'm pleased so far with mount and still learning the functions of the XT2 with the tread app paired on my phone. You cannot view this attachment. You cannot view this attachment.

Thank you for your explanation. I mounted mine before our ride to Sturgis.... learning how to use it on our way. I also used the handlebar perch mount with 1/4 20 bolts and locking flange nuts. I powered it the same but will go back in to install USB in right side glove box.. thanks again
