I finally got this done. The replacement module was shipped with a replacement wiring harness attached and a new cruise button/clip packaged separately. The other buttons were already attached. I looked at the instructions in the SM for replacing the module, and I got a serious excedrin migraine. It called for draining and removing the tank, removing the forward electrical caddy, etc, etc. The harness runs internally inside the bars so it requires using a chaser wire to pull the new harness through.

That left me with two options, either let the dealer do it or figure another way. I took the latter choice. I cut the harness and spliced the four CANBUS wires together inside the switch housing. Fortunately, I'm pretty experienced soldering and dressing small wires, so it wasn't a big deal. The housing isn't designed to accommodate a wire bundle, but I got it to fit. I finished up this afternoon, and everything works OK, except I haven't tested the cruise control yet, but I have no reason to expect it won't work.

That's the last mod except for the mufflers. They're in the garage and ready to install, but I think tomorrow will be a riding day (test the cruise control).

Thanks all for riding along.
Going down that long, lonesome highway. Gonna live life my way.
