When buying an additional PV license from Dynojet, do they send some physical item or just a link for download? They show a card that is designed to hang from a hook in a retail store. I'm just wondering how that works.

In the past, you need to use your PV to read the info from the bike. You buy the license then send them this file (maybe a couple of files). They send you back a file that you load into your PV and that's the license key. It's been awhile since I've purchased one though. They will email you instructions.

Contact Fuel Moto they give lifetime map support if you buy a PV from them. Maybe they will give you the same deal buying another license for yours.   Bob

Neither FuelMoto nor Dynojet will send anything to CA, so I have to be sneaky in order to get anything. I was only able to get the PV by signing  release and faxing it to them. That was several years ago through an online speed shop. I'm not even sure now that my PV2B will work with my new CAN  bike. I purchased a new 6-pin cable. When I hook it up, it won't even read the VIN or ECU, so there's no data to send to DJ. Sigh.

I checked the firmware revision. After updating it, all is ok. Still trying to get a second tune license.

Any out of state friends?
I suppose the .stk file if that's what the stock tune files are might ID it as a CA bike.
But since they really aren't physically mailing anything, your buddy submits the stock file they email the new tune license and then he forwards it to you. EH?  :nix:

If that's how it works, then it is quite a headache. I guess it is supposed to be. I find it hard to believe that a CA bike is identified in the .stk file. That would mean that a CA bike that is sold to an out-of-state buyer wouldn't be able to tune it, and they wouldn't know why. Also the CA identification would need to apply to every tuner device made. Even the VIN doesn't designate a CA bike.
