Here is a pic of a new bare HD plug that accepts four wires. What do I need to do to the four incoming wires to make this plug have a sound electrical connection?

Reference a electrical manual they show how to service and dress the different electrical connections used on the bike installing pin ends ect.   Bob

Assuming you have the correct pins, either crimp or solder the wires to them and push them into the connector housing. Pretty easy.

That is a 150.2 series connector.  Takes Metri-pak terminals for that series. (12124075}  These are pull type.  You push wires through connector.  Crimp terminals with proper crimper and then pull into connector.  That 4 plug is common for IACs.
