2014 seat interchangeability

Will a seat from a 2014+ bagger fit on a 2012? Reason I ask is because the newer one has a bigger slot for the backrest access making install/removal easier. Thanks

At one time when I had my 2015 RG, I used a seat from a 2008 Street Glide while mine was getting modded. Not sure of that helps you or not, but they fit definitely interchanged.

Yes it will fit.... the two year seats will be interchangeable, but HD makes different size seats for those different years..

I found out the differences, when I was looking for a used Sundowner seat for my 2016 Ultra Classic.

There were two HD Sundowner Smooth Deep Bucket Seats:

#52093-08A                     #52000128
Fits '08-'13 Touring           Fits "14 and later Touring
Seat width 16"                 Seat width 14.5"
Pillion width 14"              Pillion width 13"

Although it says it doesn't fit my '16 Ultra Classic, I bought a used #52093-08A because it had a bigger seat area.

The only thing I noticed is that it is snug fit between the rear speaker pods of the tour pack. Other wise it fit well..

Since you are going to use the slightly smaller '14+ seat on a '12, you should have no issues...

It's not a Sundowner so I don't know if any of those measurements are relevant, it appears to be a stock seat, I'm gonna go and look at it and hopefully I can try it on my bike and see if it fits. I plan on moving my tour pak back an inch or 2 so that might help if it's wider in the rear. Added: it does appear my stock seat is 16 wide front and 15 on the pillion. Thank you for the input

I was just using the Sundowner as an example to show that it will bolt right up, but it may have different dimensions than the same seat made for the 2013 model...

I have a HD Tall Boy seat on my 2016 Street Glide. I originally bought it for my 2007 Street Glide, then used it on my 2013 Street Glide before the 2016 Street Glide.
