Can I use twin cam adjustable pushrods in a SHOVELHEAD?

I have them in mine. Had to turn down the lifter ends to fit the lifter cup.

This one has the solid lifter conversion kit, shouldn't have to do that.I have the aluminum ones that came out of it,they rubbed the pushrod cover pretty good about 3" up on the rod. Never seen that in any shovel I've worked on before. Thanks.

The pushrods I took out also rubbed. At the top. These lifters are velva touch. The twin cam pushrods are tapered smith bros. No rubbing.

I've seen a lot of them rub on the top,but never down low. I put a set of smith brothers in my 10 roadking. I really like their setup!

Pushrods don't rub at the base because the lifter keeps the pushrod centered. At the top the pushrod moves out of center due to the rocker arm movement.

In my opinion you can never go wrong with Smith Brothers pushrods.

This is what I found when I started to take the motor apart.

Those old aluminum pushrods are really big, they look like maybe Colony pushrods.

The OEM 17904-66 pushrods look like this below.

Yes,I'd say they came with the conversion kit.

When I installed the S&S long block in 2004 it came with fat aluminum push rods that rubbed. I turned (sanded) them down where I saw the contact.
