On a twisty mountain road this morning, my '24 Heritage red security light came on steady and my PV went dark. It has never happened before, and there were no other symptoms. I just happened to glance down and noticed the situation. I usually keep my PV connected just to use the gauges. When I got to the restaurant and after shutting down, I turned on the ignition, and everything was normal. There were no fault codes. It started and ran normally all the way home (50mi). This has never happened to me with any bike. I'm wondering whether anyone else has had this happen. I think I'll call Dynojet and ask them, as the dealer would likely be no help.

On my old bike, the security light comes on if a turn signal bulb is burned out, but doubt that plays into your situation.

It may if the bulb is loose, including the security of the glass bulb in the base or the actual contacts / pigtail connection is compromised. Maybe carefully clean and inspect each of the bulbs for similar faults. Weather and vibration  :nix:

I had funky things going on when I kept the power vison mounted and hooked up on my06 Dyna. The vision would go out or throw codes until it just wouldn't fire up. Took it off and did a recovery on it. It worked again. Since then i have left it in the box unless I am doing some tuning or checking codes.

I agree. I think I'll just remove it and put it in the box. I shouldn't be looking at anyway while riding. If I think there's something funky going on with the bike, I can always put it back on - it isn't hard. I can always check codes using the turn signal switches and look them up.

My 2005 Dyna had a TSSM, and it would cause the turn signal indicator lights to quickly flash if the bulb was burned out. It is the reason for installing load equalizers in those bikes when upgrading to LEDs.

I think I found the problem. Belt vs PV connector - belt won. Fortunately there was no damage to the bike connector or belt. I installed the PV months ago, so this happened over a long period of time.
