Feuling made the attached video to speak to the differences between a conversion cam plate and a set of conversion cams. These are two different ways to get late model hydraulic chain tensioners in your pre 2007 Twin Cam.

Using the conversion cam plate is the lower cost method to add the hydraulic chain system to your motor.

The conversion cam method costs more as you have to buy the cams and the cam plate.

Personally I prefer conversion cams as it gets rid of the outer cam bearings in the cam plate. Even if you want to reuse a set of standard 2007 and up cams, there are businesses that will machine the inner cam bearing surface of the 2007 up cams to a smaller ID, and press a hardened bearing race on the cams. Then they fit the 2006 down Twin Cam case. It reduces the price of having to buy conversion cams if you have late cams you wish to use.

What Bearing Retainer Plate are they using ?

And another "conversion" that I wish I had done when I had the chance, is to machine the case to take the larger inner bearing .

Using a stock later model plate makes using conversion cams a lot cheaper.
I picked up several low km late model plates very cheap.

They state that they use part number 8001. I believe it's the only bearing retainer they supply.

True, if the cases are stripped that's a good way to go. And while there open the case up for higher lift cams.

Fueling advertises theirs as stock replacement.

I needed a set of cams anyway so I went the conversion cam route (Andrews 48's) with the later stock plate and have had no issues for years now. Picked up the stock components on Ebay which were very reasonable at the time.
