Riding into Wisconsin 6/27 to 7/6. Any events or rides that you can suggest?? Have friends and family from Milwaukee up into Door County... and they ride !! Love the state but would like to see more off the beaten path. Rides, Bars, Food, FUN, etc. Going to Sawdust days in Oshkosh sometime 7/1-7/5. My cousin will be playing in a couple of bands (The Friends and Mason St.) both very good !
Thanks for any advice.

Right in the middle of Summerfest!  www.summerfest.com   And don't miss the lakefront fireworks on July 3rd.

just a couple good destinations we use but are on the southwestern side of the state. Every sunday is chicken at Rockton Bar, Rockton which is like nowhere(best riding area in the state) but near Wildcat Mtn. About 600 bikes every Sunday. Need to call to get served. Google Rockton Bar. Another is New Diggings, a lead mining town and 1800's bar which is pretty cool on Sunday.

SUMMERFEST! They have free parking for all motorcycles across the street from the main entrance to the festival grounds. The lot is paved, fenced in and they have people there for security.
On July 2, HOG members get into the fest free from 12 noon-3pm.
Great music and great food variety. The beer is good also but about $5 a cup. But if your on the bike there are other choices.

Again, I'm from the Southwest part of the state but if you come in through this way heading for Door county, follow the highways along the Wisconsin River...Great little bars and fun...sometimes off beat people...
Get a State Park sticker..there's lots of great state parks to ride through...
And great Historical markers to stop at...
You could spend two weeks between here and LaCrosse and never ride the same road twice...
And I aggree...Rockton is a "unique" place ...
And New Diggins is still a great place even though the Stand up Bar burned down and Bradley went to the old Sailors home...
Where ever you go, enjoy Wisconsin..
We love it here in the Platteville area...

Hwy 33 east of LaCrosse, thru Ontario and into Wildcat mountain state park is a nice road.  Lots of curvy county roads in the area as well.  Sleepwatchers have some kind of ride and party in early July Im told by a friend up that way.
