M8 cam plate question

Good morning everyone,  In the process of doing some work on my 17 CVO limited.  Is the groove on the cam plate normal or is this something that has worn in?

It appears that the OEM plate is machined that way.

Thanks for expanding the image FSG. Looking deeper I see what the OP is referring to. Yes that would be some wear from the feed gerotor.

I also get new glasses next week. I'm half blind right now.

If you look at how the cam fits, and notice the bevel of the face of the surface that contacts the cam plate. You can see why wear mark is left.
