I feel air passing through this hole when I do my test. It's the #1 bolt hole to camplate. It's a constant leak once to 25psi. I can't get it to stop no matter what steps I use in the fueling plate test instructions. Is this normal? I think I know the answer but.

Remove pressure. Spray the area with a little Windex or 409. Apply pressure, and watch the bubbles to see if the air movement is coming from the hole or the plate.
Ignorance is bliss, and accuracy expensive. How much of either can you afford?

Air slowly comes out of the bottom hole 2nd picture always but very slightly then at 20-25psi the 1st picture hole It is a lot more.  45 is total pop off. I'm going to get a hold of Dennis Kirk. Unfortunately I bought it in August so.. I have spent over 6k with them since June of last year so maybe they will exchange it?

I was going to get the reamer they sell but tried a very fine lapping compound. It seated it very well. Spent last night flushing the plate out for hours. Then flushed with water then air and reassembled ran a camera through the passages. I didn't use alot of lapping compound but a qtip with a very light touch on one point ofthe inner seating surface. Not for the faint of heart. The harder I try to be still the more my hand shakes sometimes. Anyway, I'm pretty confident that it's very clean now. BUT....... I ordered another Camplate this morning lol. Throw the old one in the pile of parts I'm amassing.

During normal operation.  The plunger should always be off the seat controlling pressure instead of shut and relying on pump flow at low rpm.  When pressure checking these units.  For me, the most important is the pressure the plunger seats on depressurization.  I also prefer to test them lubed with engine oil.

Thanks Hrdtail78, that has truly been the confusion for me. Knowing if it's supposed to seal till pop-off and what is "Normal" operation. That really helped me alot. So what is the preferred starting point of pressure relief and when should full open occur? Fueling calls out 50PSI. Currently it starts to open at 30PSI and fully at 47PSI. My last R&R plate with Thayer would drop pressure at idle to barley read on the gauge 5PSI. The HD manual Calls out 5PSI at idle Min, 30-38 @2000(RPM) 50 Max. What PSI should it fully reseat after pop-off?

I worry about seating pressure.  This pressure is the best indication of oil pressure on a running off idle engine at operating temps.  Setting at 30-35 has worked for me.
