Latest PV software and firmware there seems to be no way to disable the adaptive feature. Is there some method I'm not seeing ? Software is 3.9.2.112. Not sure what his firmware is.

People are still using the PV?  :hyst: Can't you just take it out of closed loop?

rbabos

That's the plan if needed and it will be by the looks of it. Not my bike or PV unit. Yup, I did do an update once on mine and found it to be a pain in the ass. Reverted back to earlier software and firmware. As for adaptive on the v rod, you never get a stable tune. In certain areas, idle and cruise it's fine. It goes unstable nuts in the lower rpms for some reason. I will just open loop that range.
As for PV, they are still selling 3 versions of it.  I'm still viewing the hard mounted screen on my PV1 since getting it in 2013.Tune has been stable for years. It's in closed loop in most areas.

With the original touch screen Power Vision, current software with basic tune permissions to turn adaptive control off you will do this on the PV device using Quick Tune.

There is no option in Quicktune to do that. He looked high an low and supplied picks of each area. Only adaptive reset. In quicktune general tab there is also a config 1 and config 2, I'm not familiar with. On the screen he has config 3 bit 1 check marked. Not sure if there's a connection here in config 1 or 2 that offers a setting adaptive disable but any online checking does not show that setting.  Bike is 100 miles from me to check that. In mine, an earlier version I do have it in quicktune to disable it in general tab like you said. So why no option to disable it?

What calibration lever are you using?  I still see the adaption table at that level of software.

Lever? I assume you mean the calibration? level 176, stock improved v rod. This cal has no adaptive access either with the software , firmware used. In mine I can set the temp to disable, use the switch and quicktune as options. This one, nothing in any place unless it's really hiding somewhere.

Yes, level of calibration.  My Vrod cals needed to be upgraded to be looked at.  But I still see adaptive.

I assume on his end buying the PV not that long ago and downloading the cal it all worked without a firmware needing the PV to update the cal. I had to download the 3.9 software to view and edit his cal. Firmware, I don't know what he has but quite sure it plays into what tables can be viewed as well as what's in the quicktune settings. Back in the day certain software and firmware combos either added or removed tables. I personally reverted back in firmware and a couple of software updates, that give me a good overall list of tables and control . In his case it's out of the box PV and a cal download from the DJ site. Very frustrating. I use MyTune and PV logs for tuning and really don't want that adaptive in play during that and even after the tune. The other issue I have is really high ve in this area both front and rear.  Logs show he's riding it normal as in light load accel from idle. I questioned him about a possible exhaust leak but he had that checked out. Weird part is he said the bike runs really smooth, which looking at the ve in that range it should rich as hell.

Excuse my ignorance on Vrod normalities but.  Can a Vrod make 3000 at 2.3 percent throttle?  I would assume deceleration, downhill and reversion.

No it can't Jason. More like about 5% range. The 2000 rpm is more disturbing and I agree it has to be what you mentioned and a lag in logging might not have picked it up.  This was run 7 in the last post and the worst example. Here is run 4 and run 6. Run 6 looks more like it should or at least similar to my bikes tune. His will swing up and down in this area as you can see. Not progressive in nature with each run. Seems to be the only spot between runs that change a lot. Will probably open loop this area unless a method of turning the adaptive off comes along.
