Ok guys, after much research for the best pricing I've located an ebay store that sells a complete cam kit which includes Andrews cam of your choice, lifters, ez adjust pushrods, Timkin cam bearing, shims and gaskets for $259. The catch is that after calling and speaking with them I learned that the lifters they are selling (getting from Harley) are the "A" lifters. The manager told me that when he orders lifters, that's what they send (probably have a large stock pile of them. He did tell me that he would sell me the kit for $40 off the normal price without the lifters. Still a very good price. I found the "B" lifters at Zanotti's for $32.33 each. Log on to ebay and search for this store. NORTH SHORE MOTORCYCLES

I almost bought the same kit a while back when I was considering the Andrews 23 or 27 cam but finally decided to go with the V-Thunder EVL-3000 cam so ended up buying everything seperate. I think this is a decent deal If money is tight like mine is as long as you stay away from the "A" lifters. Keep us informed on what you decide to do  Blaine

Yea Jimbo and lengbyroadking ...the pushrods in the kit were "Revtech" if I remember correctly and I never really could get a huge positive feedback as to their reliability so I ended up runninng from this deal and going with SE Quick Install pushrods PN:17987-98A and SE Lifters PN: 18568-98. I remember now having to change from "A" to "B" lifters and not knowing of the Revtech pushrods just didn't set well with me as far getting what I wanted....But again, dosent make it a bad deal...It just wasnn't the deal for me at the time. I just decided the xtra cost for the SE pushrods for me was worth the wait to save up a bit to get them instead of the Revtech's in Northshore's package

Cool deal your 3010 gear matched up. I bet It's pretty quiet too. ClassicRider2002 has the VT 3010 in his FXR Evo and talks highly of it. I ordered my VT 3000 no gear as I just decided to use the stock gear as I have heard they don't always match....But hey, I don't know much as this is all new stuff to me...I'm still talking to folks and  :rtfb:

I looked at the same kit, and was concerned abut the lifters to. Here is what I decided to do. I bought an EV 27 Cam off Craigslist for 75.00. It was brand new, guy never got around to installing it. Then I am buying SE adjustable pusrods from From HD, and Johnson lifters from Jireh. They are the same lifters they use in Ultima motors. I have a 113 now, and never had a lifter problem. I am at work now, but if you want parts numbers, IM me, and when I get home I will send them to you.

Hey Bud,
How are you doing? EV-27 was purchased at a great price. Use your stock cam gear when ya go for it. SE adjustables if they are chrome moly are very good but are also very under rated. Stay away from the SE aluminums if running a high lift cam. Please share with us what the pushrods cost and how much the Johnson liftes were. Just purchased a set of S&S lifters for $125.00 to keep on the shelf if my V-Thunders take a dump (they are warrantied for life), but that doesn't matter if they trash your engine.

yep...part of th reason i went with VT cam was cauz of their reported quietness.. & mine is as quiet as "a mouse in slippers"...a quaint quote i read sumwhere recently ....& as i already stated, a nice improvement in performance over stock in th Fat...i emailed VT before ordering th cam, enquiring about their gear pitch...they promptly answered saying their gears match th reportedly most common colour coding, that being RED, which was spot on for my motor....so no original gear having to be pressed on etc...
ahh Craigs List...so many nice deals...so little willing to send down here into Oz....& Jireh, g8 prices too but their freight quotes to Oz were terrible....Zanottis have always been very supportive as are some others..but i am always envious u guys have so many more options purchasing within th US....lerks n perks i spose eh......cheers
