Question on Vtune run and desired AFR

Steve Cole or others knowledgeable on the inside workings of the VTune session.  I decided to do another VTune session(s) because I changed my CLB to 739mV

I set my AFR table to 14.6 in all fields from 775 RPM to 5500 and 20Map through 90 Map.  All others I left as is.  I zeroed out my Warm-up, Acc. and Decl. Enrichment tables and Adaptive Knock control and set my PE to 10,000.

I did a VTune and when I examined the data, I noticed the Desired AFR go from 14.6 at a MAP of 14.4 to to an AFR getting progressively richer to 13.1 starting when the map value hit 80.1.

Any idea why the ECM would respond this way?

BTW,  Using a monitor on my handlebars, I just completed another series of VTunes and I must say, the bike is running extremely good!  As good if not better than my T-Max...though it could be my short-term memory loss that's making this statement.


I now plan to make data runs and use MyTune to optimize timing.  Then it's off to a dyno to see how close I am.

My tune does not optimize the timing.  :dgust:

All it does is remove timing for areas that have knock and it only removes from the main spark table which may or maynot be the right thing to do. This is just the misconception that we were afraid of and why we did not do it.

Yep, I have read your thoughts on this before.  I view it as a tool and not an end-to-all-ends.

BTW, I have sent you the files on the question I had.  Just curious why the desired AFR was changing its target when it looks like I was hitting the throttle.  I thought the ECU would not do this with the Acc. Enrichment table zeroed.
