i have a stock 06 rd king is it better to have a hotter coil and bigger plug wires and battery cables? if so what names are best to go with and what changes would i see by doing this thanks

I don't think you'll see any "seat of the pants" benefits in performance.  Especially on a stock motor.  The OEM coil and plug wires are really pretty good.

i thought that it might help with a faster start and running smother

I doubt it.  The OEM parts are really pretty decent for a stock motor.

I replace plug wires every two years and use stock.  The high compression build I did requires a little extra cranking power.  I use and recommend the Yoopers cable advertised in Swap meet.  Most the techs here recommend the stock coil and wires, even plugs, especially on EFI bikes.

A little bigger wire diameter (smaller wire strands and more of them) will help on big inch and high compression engines.

A hotter coil and big plug wires won't do anything buy lighten your wallet on a stock engine.  If your stock coil is firing the engine, a hotter coil won't do a thing except make the coil wire manufacturer, and his ad writer, rich.
