Our old camera died that allowed me to just put its memory stick in the computer and do what I wanted.  The new camera (Finepix F60fd made by Fuji) says to install the FinepixViewer software first and to not connect the camera to the computer until the installation was complete.  Does this also mean I can't put the memory stick into the computer before installing the 'viewer' either?

Too much horsepower is almost enough.

Just put the stick in like usual I would think.
Listen to the jingle the rumble and the roar.

like truck said, just put the stick in the PC, it seems like the camera photo editing softwear just adds more crap to the computer, your windows or vista has good enough programs to catalog/edit most anything you will need.

Ditto Truck and seattledyna.

All digital cameras come with their manufacturer's version of photo processing software just in case the user doesn't have it already on their computer. You already have the necessary software so, just plug the memory stick/card in as usual. Just ignore the software that came with the camera.

Hope this helps.

Truck, my fuji says the same thing evry time I install the stick or the camera.
I sometimes use the fuji program when I installed my software and sometimes I use  adobe and it all works fine.
You can even upload to the fuji XD card if you like or vicea versa.
