Any body know of a good machine shop that can bore a shovel 3 5/8 cylinder and fit the pistons.
I don't mind shipping but I live in The Dallas area. I haven't found one yet but I'm looking.

I'm lucky, my indie is 7 miles from me with a full machine shop but I am sure you can find someone closer than Michigan.

If shipping is not a problem, I would send them to someplace like Zippers. I guess they still have a shop that does machine work.

been considering this place:

Looks like they got the experience and the equipment. Some places don't even have torque plates.

Its the place that the guy at the front can't use a micrometer. He told me my 3 5/8 jug was bored out to 3.623. Guess it shrunk. This was after it had been honed last year to .0035 fit and honed again to take out galled piston damage. I'm thinking may get some of the guys in the back to help me find out what size pistons I need to order. Surely they can calibrate a inside bore micrometer and tell me what I need to know.

AMS-MotoMachine & Supply have been getting the   from quite a few long time HTTer's for a number of years now, so I don't see you going wrong there.

Send them to Perry at Floheadworks...his work is first rate

I would say Floheadworks as well. Zipper does not do Shovel work anymore, although they have a Shovel guy they recommend. Doug Coffey (Headquarters) turns down Shovel work as well.

Not too far from you in Little Rock.  These guys have no  problem at all working on Shovels.  They did an excellent job on the machine work for my 4 3/4" stroker last year.  Will be taking the top end off my Evo FLT to them later on in the year.
This ain't Dodge City, and you ain't Bill Hickock.

I use these folks

but that's because they are local to me.  I'd find a local shop, but maybe you don't have one.

I was thinking about this and wanted to post once I got home today...why don't you post this in the general board, I think a couple of the head guys on HTT do shovels as well.
