HD flush Mount Fuel gauge

I have a 04 FLSTFI with HD flush mount LED fuel and battery gauge. Took alittle run yesterday and filled up before leaving...reset the trip set like I do on my evo fatboy...the LEDs read all the way to the right ..full tank....did 185 miles and the LEDs only moved slightly 1 or 2 to the left reading approx 3/4 tank...I knew that could not be...filled tank this morning 4.8 gallons....cut it a little close for not having a switchable reserve...my question is does the float stick on this...does this $199 HD gauge work ..is it adjustable....can I modifiy or bend the float...the battery gauge seems to work fine...I dont have the inst sheet as I just bought this bike..its completly blinged out and my first TC

I donot know about fi i have a 06 fxst that i put them on 1 1/2 years mine is carb once i fill up i get 85 miles on first light 35miles on 2nd light 15miles on 3rd instructions from hd says do not go by lights for fuel. i use tripmeter i keep it because i like look spent 200+ on a fuel gauge that does not work properly go figure

I am experiencing the same with mine.  The lights do not go out in a linear fashion proportional to the fuel in the tank, but again thinking back neither did the needle.  My low fuel light comes on with 1.5 gallons remaining.  Someone answered in a post I made about this issue said he had to bend the float arm from to correct the reading.  I always use the ododmeter so I am in no hurry to try and fix it.  Even if it doesn't work any better, I prefer the look to what was there before.  There is no adjustment on the gauge itself.  Here is a link to the thread: http://harleytechtalk.com/htt/index.php/topic,15119.msg152248.html#new
