OK, I was in the garage cleaning up my bike, and noticed the wifes windshield looked like a slaughterhouse for large bugs, so I cleaned hers too.  In the process, I noticed her shield (Memphis Shades - purchased about 2002) felt a little loose.  Looking around, I found the L-bracket on the top had cracked all the way through.  So, I jumped on the computer and went to the Memphis Shades website.  Got their customer service number and noticed they close in 5 min, so I shot them a call.
"Uh, I bought a shield from you in 2002 and one of the top brackets is cracked, can I still buy parts for that?" Girl on the other end says what year and model bike, so I told her.  No hesitation on her part... " OK, thats the L-bracket, I'll get 2 out in the mail tonight".   Me- "Uh, only ones broken, how much do they cost?"  Her  "Sir, they are free.  You bought a windshield from us and something failed.  We will make it right.  I'm sending 2 so you can replace them both in case the one being broken caused any stress on the other one".

Damn, that is a great company to do business with.  I seem to remember a few years back I put a windshield bag on the bike and didn't tighten down one of the SS acorns right and it parted company on a ride.  Same deal, no BS, no "you must have done something wrong", just great customer service.  If my memory is right, in lieu of payment, they suggest that you make a donation to St. Judes.

Not only was I impressed with the free part this long after purchase, but the fact the girl on the phone knew exactly what to call it.  A lot of motorcycle businesses could take a lesson on how to run customer support.

Always nice to hear about a business that takes care of it's customers.

That is rare this day in age.  You are surely going to recommend them and that goes a long way.  The fact they didn't try to hang it on you, most these suppliers say what did you do to it.  They always say no we don't have problems.  When somebody I know needs a windshield I will tell your story.  How do grade the quality of the product itself?

I would have no problem rating the Memphis Shades shield as excellent.  Fit and finish were perfect from day one.  My wife only uses warm water to clean the shield ( I cheat sometimes when she isn't looking and hit it with Windex) and the thing is still nice and clear even after 7 years.  The chrome looks perfect... still nice and shiny with zero signs of pitting or surface rust and we have ridden in some real sloppy stuff over the years.  All the screws & nuts look like they are polished stainless.
Keep in mind, her ride is a Honda 750 ACE.  The Memphis Shades we chose was the Fats rather than the Slim, but they have a quick disconnect system now that lets you switch between shields as easy as changing your gloves.  And, they build mounting systems that are product specific, not some cobbed up - multi fit - one size fits all bag of mounting hardware that leaves you cussing during installation.
Yup, I'm a very pleased customer, so is my wife.

Rags well posted! Those 2 brackets will 'buy' more advertising than the biggest billboards on 10 different interstates.

If Gracie wasn't poopin parts lately like a much older HD model I might have the jingle to consider a new windshield - but now that I think about it this original HD 'panty shield' is still pretty easy to see through and over - no need for a new one.

Memphis Shades or our own member on HTT (dang name changers) FastAire (aint it?) would be the 2 brands I'd seek.

Just an update... I sort of figured the wife would be riding without a windshield for the Labor Day weekend (5-7th) since I didn't call the part in until late in the day Sept 1.  Well, it arrived yesterday (Sept 4th) and was installed within minutes of reaching the mailbox.  Correct part, no nonsense, and they must have hustled to get it out the door so it would arrive in time for Labor Day Weekend.  Great Job Memphis Shades!

I really like my Memphis Shades shield but I either need to try to buff the tiny scratches out or order a new one.  Riding into the sun this time of year is a challenge with all those tiny scratches.

I had the same service when we moved I somehow lost 1 mounting pin. called them up and they sent 4 free. I sent St. Judes a check. Now I'm on there call list, Man they never stop.
