It is very sad the direction of our youth is heading. I live in Delaware, I remenber in the late 60's my best friend and I would shop for clothes in South Philly. Back then it was a great town to visit. You could get custom suits made by Jewish Taylors for aobut $50 bucks. Many of these taylors had been in Nazi concentration camps during WWII. They had I.D. numbers tatooed on their forearms, seeing  this realy made one think about how fortuante you were.
I wouldn't go to Philly now if I had to for any reason.

So why carry a gun, when all you need is a can of wasp&bee spray. it shoots twenty feet its directional. eight quick shoots at the face, and you have eight dudes on the ground waitting for a ride to the emergency room to get their eye sight back. Its one of the best non-lethal methods of self defence,plus they sell it at any hardware store over the counter.

Gary, I Have a can in all my vehjcles, one in the shop. My wife has 2 cans in the house. we also carry one on the ultra. This is from a guy thats carried a 45 auto, for most of my adult life. much better than mace, shoots further than a tazer,LOL,an sure f*^#ks up bees. Gene

Somehow I'm not surprised that the reporting by Channel 6 misrepresented the riders as bikers, it's typical of them. The comments by others shown below the article on the other hand, what can I say, it's Philly. You can't fix stupid. That's why I live in the "western suburbs", I don't need to be anywhere near the City.

In defense of Philly any place that has Geno's Steaks as it's home can't be all bad.  A good Philladelphia steak sandwich is one of the wonders of the world IMO.

Once again, the media missed the real problem.  Philly did not develop an overnight case of ATV riders that arrived in a turnip truck.  For years traffic enforcement has been limited to towing and parking violations.  If they ever wanted to raise money in Philly, all they would have to do is sit around gas stations and impound ATV's that drove in off the street to fill up at night.  Then they could impound and sell the ATV's to fund a parade for Vick.  Oh wait, that wouldn't work..... then they would find most of the ATV's they siezed were stolen from the burb's and actually have to do some real paperwork.  Not blaming the on duty cops, just pointing out catching large groups of people doing illegal stuff in traffic is not a departmental priority.

These people complain about these things but when it's the local kids doing it Instead of bringing it to the attention of the local officials they do nothing for fear of how one of there kids might be involved. Maybe these motorcycles/ATV just disappear into thin air because know one sees or hears anything. They act like this is something new, it's not. About ten years ago they made places like PepBoys stop selling those little pocket rockets for this very reason.
Phila. has bad sections just like Atlanta,Charlet, St Louis, Chicago or La. etc. People act like these types of crime only happens in the northern cities. Sure it does.
