Damn Fatcats anyways... HAHA

Decel pops BAD!

I fixed the pop between shifts with the decel enleanment... richened it up.

Can I change the 20kpa column to like 13:1 instead of it being in the closed loop area for TW-205?

It will pop half way around a curve (until I roll it back on).

TIA
Oh No!

13 is a little much, try out 13.5 and see what you get. Have you done a vtune run yet?

first run out.  Should do a couple more, but the POP POW KABOOM is NUTS!!!  HAHA :hyst:

On the TW-205 the 20kpa is in closed loop and was just wondering if it would be OK to put that column in open loop.

Also, has anybody played with advancing timing to eliminate pop/ blubbering?

Again... what are the consequences of jacking the timing up in 15 and 20kpa columns?

I'm a month and 4000 miles from my dyno tune.  New engine.  106 with 54 cams and a fatcat.

Fatcat sucks in my opinion, ona a long range bagger... MY bad.   Wind it up, though... YEEHAW! (now on THIS site... the nooses will come out and I WILL have to go to the shed! :gob:)!!

I have tuned a lot of Fat Cat 2:1 exhaust systems and it is really easy to get rid of the decel popping.  I am talking about the loud M-80 pop and not the decel grumble and "gurggle" that all Fat Cats have.  Have you verified that you have no intake or exhaust leak?  Your build is quite different than a standard TW-205 so you should get it tuned sooner than later.  Advancing the timing will not do much for decel explosions.  Once your bike is tuned properly, IMHO, the cruising on the highway noise is not bad and yes it will bark when you whack the throttle.  I base this opinion on my own 124CI and D&D Borzilla.

Closed throttle spark changes advance on decel, the timing tables will not. I played with the closed throttle advance a bit, not much impact so far on boom can noise.

So... since the tune is a month away... how is it 'easy' to get rid of the decel pop?

Doc AND Herko said to do the break-in etc with the TW205 and up the size constants to 107.  But between now and Halloween...  I'm going to v-tune and ride it.  The v-tune won't get the pop.  So, again, if it's easy?  What's the fix?

And if the tune smooths this out... vis-a-vis the fatcat?  That would be super!

Thanks
