Looking to replace w/shield with either Clearview with or without recurve or National Cycle vstream.Anything out there thats better? Ideas, opinions, comparisons greatly appreciated! Thanks....

I have and like Memphis Shades. http://www.memphisshades.com/ Very reasonably priced for a quality product. I don't think theirs are recurved, at least mine isn't, but that hasn't been a prob at all.

I prefer to deal with Clearview although $$ is more than some, because if you order one, you can install it with the protective covering left on, try it out and if you need to swap it out for a shorter or taller one, it only costs you shipping charge. Getting the right height windshield is sometimes hard to do the first time.

IME the re-curve on the Clearview works.

The Clearview works for me ...John from Clearview asked my height, inseam and weather I ride two up or not.also asked if I like to look over or through and the windshield they sent was a perfect fit and its held up crystal clear for 4 years now
I would buy another one for sure

Thanks to all that replied,3 in a row for Clearview so that is who I went with.Ordered one up today, got to talk to John, great help and a wealth of info. Ended up getting a 16" clear with recurve, should do the deed. Thanks again for the advice!!

Good choice. I'm on my second windshield from them. One for the RK and now one on the RG. Great customer service and a great product.

the clearview on my 09 RG absolutely cured the buffeting issue! great quality with good optics as well

Not trying to steal the thread, but I just have 1 question.  Can any of the listed windshields be used as replacements for oem windshields? Meaning, just the lexan replacement?

seattledyna

do you meen the same specs as the OEM shield?

northbrun

I guess what i'm asking is this... Can I buy an aftermarket lexan that will fit (bolt on without mogifacation) to the oem hardware.

When I ordered my Clearview shield it came with a new rubber seal and new well nuts. That's really the only windshield hardware on a RG. The OEM well nuts will work with the Clearview shield but the rubber seal will not. The Cleaview is a little thicker. I hope this helps.

I've got an 02 RG with a 16" Clearview on it. As mentioned, Clearview will send replacement wellnuts and screws, along with a rubber gasket. Use their stuff. Bolts right on.

yep, like the guys say, it does bolt right on!
