I'm doing the new style oil pump/camchain upgrade to my 03. On the stock oil pump
there is a o-ring that seals the pump to the camplate I don't see a o-ring on the new
style..... how does it seal to the cam plate just a good machine surface?
I have a 08 service manual but does not have a good break down of this area
I do have the big o-ring for the pump were it mounts to the case.

Thanks for any help
If someone has a parts breakdown of this area from a parts book, that they could post
I would appreciated it. That way I can have a good picture of the area.

Part # on oil pump 26037-06
Part # on cam support plate 25355-06

yes just metal to metal surface.  I have had one for 25000 miles now with no problems.

Thanks     Is it just me or do the service manuals have less
pictures/breakdowns then they use too?

Look to the HTT Instructions Section,  they usually have good pix

Thanks Fatboy_SirGarfield   Those both look like hybrid's.
Pumps are the same though.

No o-ring needed. 35,000 miles on my conversion and still going strong.

Heck,
One less part to pinch or destroy.. If housing / camplate should weep.. Who is going to know? Max

FYI, I was recently told by my local dealership that the 25283-07 part number was obsolete.  It seemed like a good fix for my recent oil pump woes...

Thanks Fatboy_SirGarfield     I did look at the service letters you posted   it helped thanks.
I had already bolted it up when I first asked this question and really didn't what to unbolt it.
Wish the darn service manual had some more pics/breakdowns   and I should have spent
more time looking how this was put together meaning    looked at the pump and camplate closer.
You wouldn't have a pic of the back side of the camplate would you? : )

Can't wait to finish this project   Wish I could spend a whole day on it and just get it done.

No, one of the few things I don't have as I've not seen one in the flesh.
