1990 F250 329K on the clock getting hard to start the first time every morning, now at 40~50 degF, current weather here in Ill.

I decided to change out all the glow plugs with new Motorcraft OEM plugs. The new GP's all 8 cost was $98, the install only took 45 min & was easier then slicing a piece of bread.

The outcome was outstanding excellent , the wait to start light on my dash has never stayed on any more the 10 seconds prior to this...
...the very 1st start after GP install with a cold motor, the wait to start light stayed on for 23 sec count, being 46 degF outside and the ole 7.3L with 329K on the clock cranked for 4 sec and fired right up.

Previously, the first start of the day was taking up to 12~17 sec cranking with my GP wait to start light only staying on for maybe 7 seconds and then right after the GP relay would start clicking, all of the clicking is gone now after new GP install.

I'm so thrilled I could do a f*ckin hand stand, just thought I would share my experience with any of you that might be running one of these old oil hammers.

It's been a great truck and it just keeps on trucking, can dam near run anything that burns in it for fuel

The diesel Escorts here had similar problems, amazing what a new set of glow plugs does
