Caught this on another board. I figured it was worth passing on.
Thanks for your service!

Golden Corral is offering a free dinner for active military and vets on Nov 16

Forget the bull"Potty mouth" - it's all about two wheels and a motor!

Will pass this on to my veterans chapter president so he can mention it during the Veteran's Day ceremony.

Thanks for the heads up on both restaurants.

I'll take a pass on this one. Not to be the neg-head here but my experience with these "free" meal offers turns out to be a clusterkcuf of long lines and sub-par service. I live in SoCal and have tried to get in on the Denny's free breakfast deals. Only thing free is the longass lines waiting to get in. Thanks, but no thanks, I will just wait and pay the MSRP when I decide I want to go to that establishment. AP

I think its a grand offer lines or no lines my hats off to the establishments that do this remember they don't have to.

I salute them for their efforts!

The nearest Golden Corral is about 150 miles so I don't think I'll be going that far for a free meal.  There are a couple of Applebee's around Syracuse and, if I'm not too busy AND the weather's nice, I might seek out a free burger as appreciation for my 10 years, 6 months, 11 days!

"Uncle" gave me all the "free" food I care to partake in. But, it's a nice gesture, even though the underlying motive (marketing) is still there. Dey ain't no free lunch! Least ways it's likely gonna be a little better than "C", "K", or "MRE". Ever smoke a 20 year old Lucky Strike? :>)

Thanks, I have one about three miles from the front door.  :smilep:

It's a kind gesture. Although the closest Golden Coral closed down last year some time, we have several even better smorgasboards in the PA Dutch area and more than one offers a free meal on your birthday, you do need to show them your drivers license. Everything is the same as any other day, you just get it for free. I guess you could go to more than one free meal on the same day but can't imagine being able to eat that much.

PaJoe One of them would be the Shady Maple. Correct?  :smilep:

That is correct, Yoders does as well and I think we bumped into at least one other one, perhaps Deiners. We usually do Shady Maple if it is not too full, but really like Deiners on route 30 east of Lancaster, not much of a selection but everything is good if you like Pennsylvania Dutch cooking made by Menonites, Deiners is the most economical and now that they use pagers you just check in and walk around the local shops, (or polish the bike?)  until your table is ready.  We used to like the Golden Coral in Lebanon, the one server would give us hugs every time we came in and have our table ready before we sat down, and her first comment was how was your baby (the Harley)  doing?

Lunch today we're flooding Appleby's with Vets who are now Patriot Guard riders.  Welcome home Brothers and sisters.

Had lunch at the Dryden Hotel in upstate NY on Monday and noticed their sign for free breakfast AND lunch for veterans today.  It was about 68 degrees on Monday.  Quite a bit cooler today (36 right now) so I don't know if I want to ride 50 miles for a free lunch.

Looks like this offer is good for Applebees in Canada as well.

Went to Appleby's with ten other PGR this afternoon. They treated us like gold and the food was excellent. Good on you Appleby's and there employees.
