I am looking for advice on what might be the best motorcycle cover I can use for indoor storage. My garage is heated but often with the door up and down in the winter all kinds of stuff ends up on the bike. What brand name ones can some of you suggest. I would like to keep the price in the under $200 range...Any help would be appreciated..

If you own one you should ride it...not polish it..not look at it...ride the dam

I've got an HD brand cover that will work with your bike.  Paid $135 for it.     Used twice.  I'll "give" it to you for $60 delivered.

i use a king size white sheet. the sheet will breathe and no moisture will be trapped under the sheet. i do use a box window fan blowing on the bike to eliminate all moisture from forming from the get go in an unheated garage.

Drag Specialties makes some nice covers for $100   1701-1004 is the part number and they are made in USA.

RVN73

I used the moto jacket for New England winter storage. works great

I went down to the local HONDA dealer and picked up the two cheapest nylon covers I could find for both my bike and my wifes for garage storage.  They keep the dust off and slow down falling snow shovels.  Like you, our bikes are in a garage with the car so they get frequent opening & closing of the garage door all winter with no real ill effects.  Additionally, the covers pack small so when we go on vacation we can pack them easy and toss a cover on the bikes at night.  Keeps the Motel rug rats from touching stuff and since they are no-name brand covers, I'm not advertising there is a H-D under the cover.  I forget the actual brands of the two, but just about anything you pick up will cover your needs.  Oh, a side benefit is once the bike is covered, you are less apt to go out and start it just to hear it run for a few minutes, and to me that is the worst thing you can do to a stored bike.

Best bet JMO is a breathable cover for long term storage.

I have two one nylon rain cover I use on the road when in hotels
it has a Yamaha logo on the front to fool the thieves LOL

Not really LOL

I got the heavier cloth cover for in the garage . It is PN 91685-98 Fits Touring models (except Trike). MSRP US $129.95

HD's other option is 98716-87B Fits all models MSRP US $79.95 Poly breathable cover

There are a lot of covers out there, the HD ones have the heat protected area for the pipes so if you put it on when the bike is hot/warm it won't ruin the cover...

Or you could go all out and get the Official HD Harley Bubble

Harley Bubble

The Harley Bubble is designed to constantly flow filtered air over the bike, providing a dust-free, condensation-free environment that greatly decreases the chances of corrosion during storage. The bike stays clean, dry, and best of all, can be viewed even while it's being stored. For indoor and North American use only. 110-volt only.

PN 94646-98 Fits models with Windshields and Tour-Pak® luggage carriers. Does not fit Trike or models equipped with a sidecar. MSRP US $299.00

I cant help it. About a mile down the road from my house right on Pacific Coast Hwy ( PCH ) there is a Cycle Gear and a Harbor Freight right next to each other. I drive my expensive american car or my expensive american motorcycle there and buy cheap chinese stuff!!!!

Yup, my ultra takes 2, just old bed sheets work fine. Keep your $ in your pocket for a good travel cover if you haven't got one and like touring.
As stated, most of them are water resistant and the wrong thing for winter storage. I store my bike in an unheated garage and I've seen it covered in frost and you don't want that moisture trapped.

I think in Canada "Princess Auto" must be similar to the American "Harbour Freight"....maybe not.   But at Princess Auto you can buy a lot of inexpensive...read cheap tools and power equipment for the farm, shop etc. In any case in my opinion there is a lot of junk there but you can find some good deals if you look around.....depends if you need top notch or middle range stuff.

Anyway...long storey short...they had a deal on motorcycle covers....three sizes... all the same price....around 20 bucks Canadian so I bought enough to cover everything in the shop. Not top notch covers but in the shop they are basically dust covers and keep "Potty mouth" of the bikes when you are working on other bikes or wood working projects etc.

A guy I work with uses an old velvet drape with the soft inside to cover his bike at work. His dad found it at a garage sale for $5. It breathes well and is heavy enough that the wind doesn't blow it off.
I have an extra HD one I would sell. Used a couple times before I sold my other EG.

Bill, I used a $19 bike cover from Walmart on the Street Glide, worked great for garage storage.
