Could it be the front brake light switch causing it?
Listen to the jingle the rumble and the roar.

i dont see how i unplug the rear swith the front works ok i have 2 bikes here with the rear one unplugged thought maybe it was a sign i use the front brakes way more than the rear so its not a big deal to leave it unpluged until that one panic stop bits me

Does the rear brake release when you take your foot off the brake pedal?

I ran into the same issue from a whole other perspective.

My cruise control wouldn't engage because my brake lever was loose which engaged the stop light switch.  It turned out the handle was loose because the master cylinder plunger was gummed up and wouldn't fully extend to apply enough pressure on the brake lever to turn off the stop light switch in order to allow the cruise control to engage.

My sled is a 03 and I hadn't fully flushed the brake fluid ever outside of the occassional bleeding when swapping pads so I could understand the fouled plunger, but yours is fairly newer so I don't think the plunger may be the problem unless you have lots of play with your brake lever or you pedal if it's the rear on.

SEMPER FIDELIS!

I would bet it would be the front brake light switch, loosen switch houseing push inward toward brake clamp and retighten should go off...xzo
