torque question

I have a dog bone for head bolt torque--2 inch attached to 16" torque wrench.  What is proper setting for wrench for proper torque

of 55ft lbs.  Stock shovel 80".

If the extension is in line then,

R = (TxL) / (L+A)  = (55 x 16) / (16 + 2)  =  880 / 18  = 48.88*   =  Set the Wrench to 49 ft lbs


If the extension is at 90 degs then there is no change,  Set the Wrench to 55 ft lbs

 I use torque required/ (length of dogbone in inches/12) +1. (Assuming we are talking ft/lbs). The original formula gives different values depending on how long the wrench is. I make it 47ftlb.

units of measure in the equation had me confused.  can't just compute with out common units

Numbers mean nothing without units of measure.

i always have the dog bone at 90 deg makes it easy with engine in frame
cant get at most bolts straight any way.if its in a stand it works just as easy
