I have been collecting parts for a 116, it may not happen this winter.  Was thinking about re-ringing and freshing the heads on my T-Man 95 and upgrading cams.  Stage three heads about 24k of high revving fun. Weisco pop-ups and TR 590 cams.  My understanding is I am at 10:8 to 1.  Was going to run the 650 cams with four degree advance as per TR,  I can use them when I up grade crank and bore.  Haven't put rings in a twin cam, been reading here for a while.  What rings should I buy and set them with how much gap, what clips will I find on those pistons.  Do I need to buy a tool for the clips and is it piston in juggs, or juggs on pistons.  Can I freshen those heads locally or should I send them back?  Friend has a valve machine, or local machine shop, just need cleaned up?  I am going to do a leakdown and compression check this weekend, what is to much?  Anyone run this combo what should ccp be? Anybody have ideas/advice to help me preform these tasks, it is appreciated.          TIA, clint
Drive fast, take chances

run it about 200 ccp with that 650 cam and the 4* it will bleed off fast.
also i have been debating about freshening up the baisley heads i have was going to let a guy i know in jersey do it but have decided send it back to dan
i suggest you send them back to tr.
he knows his heads.
its only a couple hundred bucks and you know it will be done right
call tr about the rings you might have to hone the cylinders

Yeah,,

Don't to outside during a sand storm...   Max

I did mine outside in a sand storm last year and everything seems fine. :wtf:
Mostly the obvious, cleanliness is next to godlyness, and follow the manual. Don't need the circlip tool, but I would have loved to have one. There is a slick homemade set-up in the tools section to help you out, but I just used pliers and fingers.

Some of those circlips can be a real bitch to get out, bought the install tool but ended up using fingers most of the time, just be sure to stuff the spigott holes with plenty of rags don't want to lose those circlip in the bottom end.  REED

Not no V-twin pro wrench, but I did stay at Holiday Inn Express  (ha-ha) Actually have built many V-8's for strip and street rods, plus 3 Harley motors now.
#1  CLEANLINESS
#2  Take plenty of pics before dis-assembly and through the process
#3  Seperate bolts, pins, clips, etc.. into baggies or containers for each area. Not as important after a few motors but still helpfull
#4  Use good assembly grease... lithium based, white, black or red, dif manufactures have different colors
#5  Again clean every part before re-assembly then apply #4 above.  Exspecially new parts.
#6  I use Blue Lock-tite on every nut and bolt
#7  Use service manual step-by-step for re-assmbly sequence
#8  Follow Torque specs on tightening

There are a few more, ( actually lots more just depends on what your doing, squish, rocker end-play, valve/piston clearencing, on and on....)  but generally stick inside these steps and you can't wander too far off. These are just general building techniques, not specific to a certain build.
Good Luck
